Events play an important fundraising role in the life of our agency. The funds raised help keep families safe in our Domestic Violence and Homeless Shelters while victims acquire the skills and confidence to live independently.

Please contact (480) 464-4648 or email ttaj@turnanewleaf.org for sponsorship and event information. If you are unable to attend one of our events but would like to send a tax-deductible donation, please donate online.

If your company or organization is planning an event and is considering A New Leaf as a beneficiary, please contact us. We are proud to support our Community Benefit Events and hope you will too.

Community Benefit Events

While Phoenix Theatre actors danced across the stage, SRP’s Women’s Interest Network raised funds to the tune of $5,460 for A New Leaf’s domestic violence programs. The theatre featured the play “Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks” and gave people in the community the opportunity to serve and be entertained. Tickets were $15 a piece and 100 percent of the revenue was donated to Valley domestic violence victims. On behalf of the abused, A New Leaf thanks WIN for its generous and continued support in jumpstarting their fresh start.

Domestic violence victims and their children were serenaded by The Symphony of the Southwest (formerly Mesa Symphony Orchestra) on Mother’s Day 2008. The sweet strains of classical music played a tribute to the mothers and reminded them that they are not alone. We thank you Symphony of the Southwest for prompting these women to remember that they are worth honoring.

SRP fashionistas strutted down the catwalk in the latest styles for the 2007 SRP Women’s Interest Network’s fashion show at the Pera Club Pavilion. The October 18 event raised $9,123 for A New Leaf’s domestic violence shelters Faith House and Autumn House. Women anxious to reboot their lives after domestic abuse appreciate WIN’s willingness to host creative fund-raisers on their behalf.

Nonperishable food spilled over the once nearly bare cupboards of A New Leaf’s homeless and domestic violence shelters in July of 2008 thanks to Arizona Central Credit Union. The financial institution gathered food at their locations across the Valley for the less fortunate. A New Leaf thanks Arizona Central Credit Union for saving it $3,000 in groceries for its clients.

Arizona Beta Sigma Phis Against Domestic Abuse, Inc. recently warded Autumn House $8,000 from its “Share the Magic” funds. To date, “share the Magic has contributed over $21,000To Autumn House through its annual fund-raising events. Both Autumn House and Faith House have benefited from this passionate group for years and our women and children are grateful as are many other domestic violence shelters across the Valley.

These are just a few of the innovative ways local business have stepped up to help the less fortunate in our community.

We encourage you to take the challenge of coming up with your own idea to help families and change the lives of the people who surround you. Please call 480-464-4648 for more information.
